Are you finding it hard to be productive in your new business?

You may have been an employee, used to going to an office and with deadlines set by the company.

Or you may have never worked before and are suddenly faced with the need for some structure in order to move your business forwards.

Or this may be the first time that you are working from home and need help keeping yourself on track and avoid the distractions.

The transition to being your own boss when starting your business can mean that whatever you were doing before, you are suddenly faced with a lack of routine and no external deadlines to ensure you make progress.

The way to deal with this is to set yourself weekly goals and then break them down into tasks that you need to complete in order to achieve them. Then plan your week around these tasks, adding in time for admin, answering emails and any other tasks that you need to do to move you or your business forwards.

You’ll need to try this out for a week and then review how the week has gone against your goals. What went well? What do you need to do differently next week? Then incorporate those tweaks into the plan for the following week.

And make sure you build in some flexibility…we are not robots and sometimes things won’t go exactly to plan. And that’s okay!
